An independent heating engineer for Tiverton

I've been working on gas heating systems for over 25 years. Before moving to Devon and setting up under the Tiverton Boiler Repairs name, I ran Thames Boilers in Kent — servicing, repairing and maintaining domestic gas boilers and hot water systems across a wide area. The work was the same; the countryside is considerably better.

I'm Gas Safe registered and hold the G3 Building Regulations qualification for pressurised unvented hot water cylinders. I carry £2m public liability insurance. I've worked on Worcester Bosch, Vaillant, Baxi, Ideal, Glow-worm and Viessmann systems, as well as most of the other common makes that turn up in Devon homes.

My work is limited to existing systems: boiler servicing, fault-finding and repairs, unvented cylinder maintenance, and smart heating controls. I don't do boiler installations. That's a deliberate choice. Every job I take on is something I do regularly and know well, and I've no reason to steer you towards a replacement boiler when a repair is the right call.

If you call me with a boiler problem, I'll tell you what I actually think. Sometimes that's "this is a quick repair." Sometimes it's "given the age of this boiler, you'd be putting good money after bad." I'd rather tell you the second thing than take your money for a repair that won't last.

I moved to Mid Devon and started trading under the Tiverton Boiler Repairs name relatively recently, which means local reviews are still being built up. The reviews currently on this site come from my previous business in Kent. I've attributed them clearly, because passing them off as Tiverton feedback would be misleading. I'm confident the work speaks for itself. I just haven't had the time here yet to build up a Tiverton-specific track record on paper.
